a warning

I heaved a sigh when I learned they were only joking.

re-issues

I don't know what's the deal with Odyssey, but I was in their Megamall branch last Friday and I saw a couple of re-issues that made my eyes pop in disbelief. To wit:

* Skid Row's Skid Row
* Skid Row's Slave to the Grind
* Van Halen's The Best of Both Worlds (2-CD set)
* Black Crowes' The Southern Harmony and Musical Companion

I also saw Mastodon's Blood Mountain, which I, though not a big fan of the band, am also itching to score since it's not everyday a legit metal album finds its way to our shores.

Anyway, kudos to Odyssey - or to whoever brought them here - for these releases. (I'm not sure if they're available in other stores.) Now I've something to road-test my new spanking Citibank credit card with.

message

Saw this message on a girl’s t-shirt while on my way to work earlier.

“Buy a ticket.
Quit your job.
Get a tan.
Fall in love.
Start a new life.
NOW!
Before it’s too late.”

Inspiring, if not thought-provoking.

paintball

Last Saturday I joined my wife and some of her officemates – Lorian, Meng, and Arvie – in La Mesa Eco-Park for Paintball (and also for some nature-tripping on the side). It was fun. The competition was between boys and girls, with them winning the first round and us reigning the second. In the first round I got hit in the face by Lorian, who was fresh from a bitter break-up with some guy and therefore was on a warpath. In the second I ran out of bullets trying to shoot my wife, who proved to be an expert in concealment.
